Travertine tile tips and tricks

Home and Furnishings

Travertine tiles are one of the least expensive types of flooring materials that you can buy. It is especially economical as compared with hardwood, porcelain or ceramic flooring. You will find when you look at your tiles that they have variations in color and pattern, and this makes each floor unique. The inner beauty comes from the natural stone, and if you chip a tile, you won’t see any sand coloring; rather it will be the same color you see on the surface. They are traditionally used in flooring but travertine wall tiles are also becoming more and more popular.

Travertine tile is stronger than either man-made porcelain or ceramic tiling. It also requires less maintenance after it is installed. Be sure that you seal your travertine tiles with natural stone sealer, and use a high-quality brand, so that it will protect your floor more fully and for a longer period of time. To clean your tile floors, use hand soap and warm water. Do not use chemicals or acid for this natural type of flooring.
