Sleep Can Affect Your Skin

Do you ever wonder why lack of sleep affects our skin? Why would 10 to 15 minutes of sleep have a drastic effect on the way we would look? Most of these questions can be answered through common sense. However most of us are too busy to recognize them, while some of us won’t even admit that we are also at fault. Here are some of the reasons why getting more sleep is beneficial to us.

Cell regeneration or the process where an old skin cell or dead skin is being replaced by new and fresh ones is more rapidly taking place at night compared to daytime. It is also boosted by the fact that our body is relaxed when we are asleep.

Products like anti aging cream and lotion are most effectively used at night. The Retinoid, Vitamins and other benefits of anti aging creams tend to lose their efficiency when the skin is exposed to direct sunlight. Thus, pairing the use of these anti aging creams with a good night sleep will give the best skin care for middle to late aged people.

During the night, the skin will replenish itself from its daily exposure to harmful UV rays, toxic air pollution and humid temperature of the day. It will revitalize itself to prevent wrinkles, sun spots and age lines at night. This can also be boosted with the use of an appropriate skin care product.

So don’t be afraid to take a day off and indulge yourself in good peaceful rest. Always take into consideration that we should take good care of our health and body as it is our way of interacting with the people around us. Have a sound and good night sleep to rejuvenate the weary skin and face and tomorrow you will be like a new person.
