LPN Training Requirements
The entrance requirements for most LPN training programs these days are not considered to be very high. This is partly due to the demand for new LPNs being unusually high as the whole health-care system gets increasingly under pressure due to increases in the population size, advances in medical technologies and the fact that people are now living considerably longer than they did in days gone by.
In fact the minimum requirements for most LPN training programs is not much more than the earning of a high school diploma and being able to demonstrate to your prospective LPN school that you do not have a criminal record of any sort, or a history of drug abuse.
This fact should encourage many people who are unsure whether they wish to commit to a full nursing degree. It means that they can see if they really want to commit to a career in nursing by qualifying as an LPN, gaining some experience and then if they want using their experience to fast-track the subsequent RN qualification process.
