How many watches do you own?

Its funny, because if you asked me if I’m a watch collector I would have said no. I mean the idea of collecting watches just for the sake of it seems really pointless to me. And it is costly too. I’ve heard of people who happily drop $50,000 on a watch that they will never own but just need to fill out a gap in the collection. Think of it as baseball cards I guess, and these guys can’t stand it to miss out on a particular make or model.
Anyhow, even though I don’t think I’m a watch collector, I have managed to somehow end up with a watch collection. I makes almost no sense to me how that has happened, but there you go. I have a really rugged watch that has an altimeter and compass that I use when mountaineering. It is made by Suunto and is really awesome. It is a bit bigger than I’d like and it goes through batteries pretty quickly, but when I’m out on the mountain I couldn’t wish for anything better.
Then I also have a polar heart rate monitor that I use when I run or go to the gym to track my performance. It isn’t top of the range by any means but it tells me if I’m burning fat or carbs and whether I’m working out hard enough. Then I also have a beautiful Tag Heuer that my wife bought me. I love this watch and wear it most of the time. It really is a quality Swiss watch. It looks good, feels pretty solid and makes me feel like I’m worth a million dollars when I wear it. Are we getting close to the end of the list yet? Almost. My last watch is a cheap $25 Swatch watch that I wear when I’m going into bad parts of town at night and don’t want to be wearing an expensive watch. So that’s it. An ordinary guy like me has a whole collection of watches even though I’m not a collector. So how many watches do you have?
