Gucci Mane Music Popularity In Washington DC

There are a lot of diverse styles present in the music scene in Washington DC. If you take a look at the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area, then you will know that they are strongly influenced by a style of music called “go-go.” This type of music is classified as a style of funk and was popularized during the late 1970’s. With that said, there has been substantial support for Gucci Mane music throughout his entire career in this same area. In fact, there have even been custom remixes to many of his songs by local artists in the area. Even though he is not even from this region of the country (he’s from Atlanta, GA) a lot of people know and listen to all of his songs in the District of Colombia.
Not only do they listen to his music a lot, but he gets a lot of radio play because most people can relate to the things that he is talking about. In case you don’t know, there is a lot of street violence and a lot of poor people that are just trying to fight through their day in order to survive. The only way for a lot of people to escape their troubles is for them to listen to music that they can fully understand.
Gucci Mane has been through and survived a lot of situations that most people would never want to deal with. Since most of the people listen to his music in this area, he has taken the time to show his fans some love by collaborating with the newcomer named WALE (who actually grew up in this area) on the song “Pretty Girls (produced by Best Kept Secret).”
