Causes of a Cough

A cough is known to be the most common reason for which people go to their family doctor. Sub-Accute cough is one which last for more than three weeks. The cough which last more than 8 weeks is called as chronic cough. Cough due to allergy doesn’t last too long but cough as a symptom of the pneumonia can last for weeks. Cough scientifically speaking is a good thing as it helps body to throw out the waste products but if it’s only productive cough and not the dry cough. Dry cough can be very irritating for everyone as it will make life worse than the hell.
The causes of the cough are different and also depend upon the person and his habits too. Following are the common causes of the cough worldwide;
a) The common cold: This is the most affecting cause and occurs to most of the people. The cold is a very common disease and many people get it once or twice in the year.
b) Acute sinusitis: sinus allergy is very common these days and most of the people get it once a year. Sinus allergy relief is a subject of study for many scientists.
c) COPD also called as chronic bronchitis: It is also a common reason and which results in shortness of breath, wheezing and change in mucus production and color. Antibiotics are very good medicines on this.
Normally when treating cough the person’s history and his environment is also need to be studies properly as the cause will be in these conditions most of the times. The proper root cause analysis will prevent the cough from occurring again and again. After all precaution is always better than cure in any case. Avoid cold and allergic conditions to prevent yourself from the cough.
