If you are heading away this year for a holiday in Spain, you should grab hold of your tent, stick on your rucksack, and go for camping in Spain. There are many, many reasons why you should camp in Spain. Here are just a couple.

There are campsites open throughout Spain that offer very high quality standards. The campsites are situated in and around the major cities. They’re also placed near some of the more fantastic beaches. And those beaches are second to none, the sand is golden, the sea is bright blue, and the women are beautiful.

The weather in Spain always seems to be sunny especially down along the East Coast and South Coast. If you could wake up every morning to sunny skies then that is reason enough to be there.

Tent Camping Cooking Supplies

When tent camping, you will often have your car or vehicle nearby. (Unless you are backpacking!) Having a vehicle handy will enable you to pack certain camping cooking supplies that you may not normally be able to include. The handiest way to sort out camping cooking supplies for camping is to keep a large plastic lidded container in your garage or basement. Have this bin stocked with camping cooking supplies and ready to go at a moment’s notice. Inside the bin, include dishes such as plates and bowls, utensils and cutlery for serving and eating, cups and mugs for drinking, and pots and pans for cooking with. You can also include a small washbasin inside the bin so that you have something available at the campsite for washing the dishes. Also put some biodegradable dish soap, dish rags and drying towels inside. Having a well-stocked camping cooking supplies bin that you can easily transfer to the trunk of your car will help lessen the amount of packing you may need to do for your camping vacation.

Duffle Bags

There are many choices when it comes to luggage and the materials that are used to make them. One of my favorites is the very versatile duffle bag. Obviously a duffel bag is a soft outer cover for you contents so some items don’t work well in duffels (ex: your liquids like shampoos and anything fragile(. You can pack a few items into the middle of the duffle bag and surround them with lots of clothes to make them a little safer. As far as materials go, nylon if a great choice because it is very strong and it comes in many color choices. Canvas is a little heavier but it also breathes well. Leatehr is an option for a duffel bag, but you will usually see smaller sized duffel bags if you are looking for leather

Languedoc Carnivals – Limoux Fecos

Ok, if you want to see something quite bizarre then get yourself down to the ancient Occitan festival of Limoux, Fecos de Limoux, which takes place over several weekends in this town in the Languedoc region of France. From around the middle to end of January, right through until the second Sunday before Easter, the towns folk come out three times during a weekend day to perform, or celebrate if you will, an ancient ritual in the town’s main square.

Having asked many locals, I am still not clear of the exact purpose of these parades, but nevertheless each weekend is given over to one particular local guild who, dressed in outlandish costumes, troop round the square and it’s many bars, singing, dancing and generally behaving in a mischievous fashion.

With three performances a day I do not doubt the historical significance of the event and yet suspect that it’s popularity today is certainly helped and fuelled by large quantities of alcohol!

Winter at the Beach

Now that the summer season is getting started, I was thinking about my last visit to the beach. It was a mid January trip and I found myself with a bit of time, between appointments, and not far from the ocean. I headed east to Point Pleasant NJ and parked in an empty parking lot. It was a bit strange as I knew this same location would be packed with cars in six months time. From my great spot in the parking lot it was but a few steps to the boardwalk.

When I walked up over the edge of the point where I could see across the boardwalk and down to the beach, I saw that the beach was covered in snow. I don’t think I have ever seen that as I I have only been to the beach, or Point Pleasant, a few times during the winter.

Hispanialta Egyptiin

Talvella on mukava lähteä lämpimään maahan hakemaan aurinkoa ja valoa, jotta jaksaa kylmän ja pimeän talven yli Suomessa. Yleensä suomalaiset ovat makustelleet Kanarian saarille hakemaan lämpöä ja aurinkoa talven pimeyteen. Atlantilla sijaitsevat saaret ovat kyllä mukavan etelässä ja lähellä päiväntaasaajaa, jossa aurinko paistelee paremmin siloin kun meillä on täällä talvi. Uutena vaihtoehtona voisi kanarian saarille olla kuitenkin egypti, jossa aurinko ja sateeton ilma on ehkä jopa varmempaa kuin kanarialla. Tuossa perinteisessä saariryhmässä ei välttämättä ole niin monia aurinkovarmoja paikkoja joten aurinkoa haettaessa voi pettyä loman aikana. Egyptin ilmasto ja sijainti on siis parempi ja aurinkoa on paremmin tarjolla sekä sateisia päiviäkään ei niin montaa pitäisi olla. Hait sitten rentouttavaa all inclusive kohdetta tai lapsiystävällistä hotellia tai nuorison menomestaa, kannatta tarkastaa matkatoimisto hispanian matkat Egyptiin ja sen eri matkakohteisiin.

The Beach Crowd

This weekend is the big, first-of-the-season party at the Jersey shore. My friends and I are hanging out in Seaside Heights this year. The town is crazy. There is wall to wall people here, which isn’t surprising considering there are so many Seaside Heights hotels. It seems like every other building in this town has 50 rooms for rent, and that they are all full of people out to have a wild time this holiday weekend.

Everywhere we go there are lots of people. Out to breakfast, wait in line to get a seat. The same to for lunch and dinner. We even had to wait a little while to get in the door at the Bamboo Bar. It seems the place was so full they had to wait till people left before they could let more in.

Fortunately the only place I haven’t had to wait is getting into my room. This is awesome since I have not been able to sleep much on the beach in the morning. Every day I have had to take a long nap in the afternoon. I needed it not only because I was tired, but also so I could be refreshed and ready to go to boardwalk and the bars.

Its going to be another wild and crazy summer.

Lentokoneen mukavuuksia Lontooseen lennettäessä

Suurissa lentokoneissa on kaikkia pieniä mukavuuksia, kun lennetään pitkiä matkoja maailman eri kolkkiin. Isot koneet on varustettu huomattavasti paremmin ja tyylikkäämmin kuin pienet reittikoneet, jotka menevät lyhyitä matkoja lähimaiden välillä. Monissa voi olla vaikka ykkösluokan jälkeen vielä parempi superior luokka tai vastaava. Tässä luokassa on yleensä jokaisella erilliset penkit ja paljon tilaa jaloilla sekä matkatavaroilla. Penkit myös kääntyvät usein paljon paremmin esimerkiksi makuuasentoon kuin muut lentokoneiden penkit. Lennon aikana voi nauttia omasta televisioruudusta ja joskus on jopa oma pelikonsoli jokaisessa tuolissa.

Lähimatkoilla ei varmasti ole tällaisia mukavuuksia pienemmissä koneissa, mutta silti matka varmasti taituu erittäin jouhevasti pienissäkin koneissa. Jos haetaan pelkästään halpaa lentoa Lontooseen, niin tällaisia mukavuuksia on varmasti turha hakea omalta lennoltaan. Suuremmat tilat ja paremmat varustelut maksavat tietenkin enemmän ja niistä pitää maksaa selvästi enemmän kuin halvoista matkoista Lontooseen.
