Bad or No Credit History? Try Unsecured Credit Cards For People With Bad Credit

Do you need a credit card but you don’t have a credit history or you have a bad credit history? Unsecured credit cards for people with bad credit allow you to gain access to credit cards regardless of your credit history. These lenders don’t care if you have struggled in the past; they want to help you get on your way with the future. Bad credit lenders offer the convenience of most unsecured credit cards with just a few stipulations.

  1. You must have a job in order to gain approval for the credit card. Lenders need to know you can repay the money you borrow. Having a source of income is a must if you want a credit card.
  2. The interest rates will be higher and you need to agree to them when you sign up for the card. The interest rates can range from 11% on up to 20% or more.
  3. Depending upon the lender you have chosen to work with, you will need to pay a yearly or annual fee in order to keep the card. Usually the fee is about $50 or more.
  4. You need to agree to all late payment and penalty fees. While you might start out with the 11% interest rate, the lender reserves the right to bump that rate up to 18% or higher if you miss a payment or you fall behind on your payments.
  5. The card must be used to re-establish your credit. Of course you control your own financial fate but this card should be looked upon as your last resort to repair your credit. Start by keeping a low balance, make timely payments, and never max out the card.

What happens if you cannot find a lender to offer you a credit card? Talk to them about personal loans for people with bad credit. Most lenders prefer the personal loans because they come with fixed payment terms, high interest rates, and a bit of security for the risk they take.
